Announcements and course webpage: Most announcements will be made by e-mail and recorded in the Messages Logbook at http://listproc.ucdavis.edu/class-secure. Homework assigments will be posted on the course webpage with URL http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~bxn/m22a.html
Homework: weekly assignments are posted on the course homepage. Homework is due at the beginning of the class on the due date, usually a Monday. Corrected homework will be returned by the TA, in his office hour. We will not accept any late homework. It is OK to work with two or three students together on the homework.
Computer Lab: You will also need to use the Matlab sofware package to do some of the homework problems. You can get an account on the computer system of the Department of Mathematics by signing up here. If you don't know Matlab or not well enough to do the Matlab homework assignments without assistance, you should take the 1 unit web-based course MAT22AL. Students who have taken ENG6 may not need it, but for all other students MAT22AL is strongly recommended. For more information about the lab and how to register, see the MAT22AL website at http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~daddel .
Quizzes: We will have a 10-15 minute quiz during regular class time on some of the homework due dates. Unless announced otherwise, the material covered in each quiz will be the same as the homework due that day.
Midterm Exam:There wil be one midterm in the class of Wednesday
02/21, about the material covered up to
and including the class of Monday 02/12.
Final Exam: The final exam is on Friday, March 23, 8:00am-10:00am, in the regular classroom. You should verify this information near the end of the quarter. The final is a comprehensive exam covering all material of the course.
Quizzes and exams are closed book and, of course, individual work.
Grade Distribution:

The problems on the quizzes are straightforward applications of the material and are not meant to be challenging. The midterm and the final will have both elementary and challenging questions.
