A Look at Matroids

These combinatorical objects are surprisingly versatile and appear in many places in mathematics. We'll look at a simple representation of matroids, a few more of the many representations of matroids, and what you can do with matroids. In particular, we shall find that one cannot be too greedy with matroids!
This talk is intended for everyone and will not be directed just to specialists in combinatorics.
