"The counting of microstates in order to establish a quantum statistical basis for the entropy of certain special classical black hole solutions of general relativity is one of the recent important achievements for modern superstring theory. I will review some of the methods used to accomplish this counting and then discuss a related problem: can we find a classical limit for these black hole microstates?"
