Description
Groups like Gl(n) are cut out by equations and so have both the
structure of a topological space and of an algebraic variety. These
properties are encoded in their 'classifying spaces'. In this talk, I'll
try to explain this as well as some particular results about SO(2n,C) are
related groups.
