Description
Channel capacity is one of the fundamental ideas of information theory.
I will introduce this concept for the time-invariant channel, and discuss
difficulties involved in moving to the time-varying channel. I will
introduce pseudodifferential operators, and show how they have brought us
to within several steps of first, general capacity results for the
time-varying channel.
