Global-time solutions of a model of contact line motion

PDE Seminar

Speaker: Inwon Kim, UCLA

We consider a free boundary problem which in two dimensions describes contact line motion of quasi-static liquid droplets on a surface. Using 'viscosity' solutions approach, we prove global time existence and uniqueness of the solutions under a geometric restriction on the solution. This is a joint work with Karl Glasner.
