Description
Recent progress in supergravity has allowed to classify geometrically
supersymmetric solutions. We will see how four dimensional black holes
and their attractor mechanism can be described using generalized
complex geometry. As a warm-up we will describe a similar
classification for vacua in type II theories, and review what is known
about explicit examples beyond the Calabi-Yau case.
