Quantum algebra and topological quantum field theories are a rich source of invariants in low-dimensional topology. This series of three talks will introduce some of these invariants, including Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants of links, Vassiliev invariants of links, and Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants of 3-manifolds.
This is the first of a series of three talks in the Geometry-Topology RFG.
