Applied and Computational Harmonic Analysis in Action
Student-Run Research| Speaker: | Naoki Saito, UC Davis |

Description
I will overview my and my group's research projects all of which
are related to Applied and Computational Harmonic Analysis (ACHA).
ACHA is a discipline to study: a) efficient and meaningful representations of
data objects (e.g., signals and images) and operators (e.g., matrices);
b) fast computational algorithms to operate on them; and c) their wide-range of
applications.
In particular, I will discuss our recent effort on: 1) analysis of neuronal
dendrite patterns using graph Laplacians; and 2) classification of underwater
objects using sonar signals.
