Intertwining operators in Hecke algebras

Description
I will introduce the basic theory of intertwining operators in the group algebra of the symmetric group and the Hecke algebra of the symmetric group. I will then give applications of the theory to the representation theory of the symmetric group and Hecke algebra, and if time permits I will show how non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials can be constructed using intertwining operators.
