A new Picard-type theorem associated with q-special functions
PDE and Applied Math SeminarSpeaker: | Edmund Chiang, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology |
Location: | 1143 MSB |
Start time: | Tue, Jan 19 2010, 4:10PM |
Prompted from recent progress in discrete integrable systems, we shall describe a new form of Picard theorem that is related to the important Askey-Wilson operator, in particular in q-orthogonal polynomials and q-special functions. The Jacobi Elliptic functions are amongst the q-special functions. Although a very general q-Nevanlinna theory will be discussed, the lecture does not require much prerequisite apart from the first complex analysis course.
