Combining Einstein's original reasoning, leading to a description of our physical universe in terms of (pseudo)Riemmanian geometry, with ideas dating back to Weyl, we explain how to describe physics using conformal geometry. This leads to a deeper understanding of the origins of mass and the dependence of physical processes on scales.
