Equivariant cohomology of Sato Grassmannian and shifted symmetric functions.
Mathematical Physics SeminarSpeaker: | Albert Schwarz, UCDavis, Math.Dept |

In this talk (based on joint paper with Frank Liou) I'll explain how shifted symmetric functions and, in particular, shifted Schur functions appear naturally in the analysis of equivariant cohomology of Sato Grassmannian. I'll give the definitions of notions of topology and combinatorics we are using, but I'll have no time to explain the relation to string theory. (I hope to give the explanation in the next talk.)
