Inclusion-exclusion principle in homological algebra
Mathematical Physics SeminarSpeaker: | Anton Khoroshkin, stony brook |

I will explain how one can use the inclusion-exclusion principle to construct free resolutions of monomial objects in different algebraic settings. The appropriate theory of Grobner bases allows to extend these resolutions to the general situation. Particular examples include associative algebras, commutative algebras, operads and even enumerative problems in pattern avoidance.
