An introduction to aperiodic tilings

In this talk, I will explain several methods of constructing tilings that are not periodic but nevertheless have a lot of structure. I will also explain the concept of a tiling space and briefly discuss some of the tools used for studying such a space, including inverse limits and \v{C}ech cohomology.
