Gromov-Hausdorff distance for quantum metric spaces
ColloquiumSpeaker: | Prof. Marc Rieffel, UC Berkeley |
Location: | 593 Kerr |

I will give the definition of "compact quantum metric spaces", with motivation and examples, including quantum tori. Then I will recall the definition of Gromov-Hausdorff distance for ordinary compact metric spaces, and show how to adapt this definition to quantum metric spaces. I will discuss its properties. Finally I will show that this notion applies nicely to the quantum tori.
