The 3D Index defined by Dimofte, Gaiotto, and Gukov associates a Larrent series to to ideal triangulations of a cusped 3-manifold. Building on techniques of Garoufalidis, Hodgson, Rubinstein and Segerman, this talk will focus on an alternative method for computing the 3D index. After providing the necessary background, I will discuss some of the issues of computing the 3D Index for all triangulations of a fixed manifold. This is joint work with Craig Hodgson and Hyam Rubinstein.
