What do mathematics, art and education have in common? And how do these seemingly different disciplines support and interact with each other? Personal narratives and images from mathematicians, artists and educators are presented in order to illustrate the centrality - in all three fields - of imagination, representation, and connection to key people. Specifically, art inspired by the late Fields Medal winner, Maryam Mirzakhani is discussed and interpreted in the context of this Symposium in Honor of Angela Cheer.
There will be a reception with light refreshments from 3:45-4:15 in the lobby of the Mathematical Sciences Building.
