Recently, Gorsky-Negut-Rasmussen and Oblomkov-Rasmussen proposed constructions of HOMFLY-PT link homology related to coherent sheaves on Hilbert schemes. I will explain (in rough terms) how these constructions are realized in 3d supersymmetric gauge theory, and how a physical duality called 3d mirror symmetry (analogous to, but distinct from "classic" mirror symmetry) acts on them. Applying 3d mirror symmetry leads to a potentially new formulation of link homology, closely related to the cohomology of affine Springer fibers.
