T-duality is a core feature of string theory, which highlights the peculiar way strings probe the target space geometry. In this talk I will discuss a worldsheet theory, first introduced by Tseytlin, which incorporates manifest invariance under T-duality, at the price of loosing manifest 2D Lorentz invariance. I will focus on the one-loop quantization of the model, in particular on its beta functions and various types of anomalies, which arise due to the presence of chiral bosons. I will conclude by discussing how these anomalies affect the quantum theory beyond one loop.
