Martin Fraas is an assistant professor in the UC Davis math department. He got his PhD at the Charles University in Prague in 2008, hold postdoctoral positions at Technion, Zurich, Munchen and Leuven, and faculty position at Virginia Tech before joining UC Davis in 2020. Martin works on mathematical aspects of quantum mechanics. In his colloquium, Martin will introduce the theory of quantum trajectories, describe the standard experimental setup to realize them in quantum optics, and discuss two model examples.
