Satellites operations are very useful tools in knot theory and much work has been done to understand how satellites interact with knot invariants. But, these operations are equally useful in the study of surfaces in four-space. In this talk, I will describe a way of understanding the knot Floer invariants of satellite surfaces and show how these ideas can be used to construct robust exotic phenomena in the 4-ball. This talk draws on projects with J. Cohen and K. Hayden - S. Kang - J. Park.
