Posed in 2010 by Grigsby, the categorified wrapping number conjecture for annular links claims that the triply-graded annular Khovanov homology invariant is nonvanishing in the “wrapping number” grading. We discuss a method to explicitly produce annular Khovanov homology classes from certain annular link diagrams. As an application, we are able to verify the conjecture for alternating links and other families. This is joint work with Melissa Zhang.
