Description
The bispectrum is a common tool in signal processing.
Though normally formulated by using Fourier analysis on
R^n, it can be given a more general foundation in group
representation theory. This foundation leads to
a class of geometric invariants to group action, which
has relevance to 3D surface modelling in computer
vision, medical imaging, and astrophysics.
The theory, applications, and open areas for investigation
of the bispectrum on groups are described in this talk.
