Time-Frequency Analysis and Boundedness of Pseudodifferential Operators
Student-Run Research SeminarSpeaker: | Brendan Farrell, UC Davis |

For a function f in the time-domain, its Fourier transform is in the frequency domain. But, we generally have no local frequency information for a given time and vice versa. I will discuss the Short-Time Fourier transform, which gives a joint time and frequency representation of a function and gives us the Modulation Spaces. Modulation Spaces are the natural setting for pseudodifferential operators, and will discuss current work in this field from the time-frequency approach.
