Description
This seminar will demonstrate how mathematics can be taught using
Large Group Discovery. A traditional number theory problem will be
extended to yield a hopefully surprising/interesting result. This
will be followed by a discussion of the teaching methods used to
present the mathematics.. The talk will conclude with a brief
discussion of the program, funded by NSF, to train graduate students
to teach in this manner.
