High-Resolution Radar via Compressed Sensing
Student-Run Research| Speaker: | Matthew Herman, UC Davis |

Description
This talk describes how Compressed Sensing techniques can achieve better
resolution in locating targets than traditional radar. First, I'll give an
overview of Compressed Sensing motivated by a simple signal acquisition
and compression model (similar to how digital audio and and video systems
work). Then I'll show how applying these techniques to radar can improve
the resolution over traditional methods. This area of research uses
mathematical tools primarily from Applied Harmonic Analysis, and Linear
Algebra.
