In 1962 Fr. Fabricius-Bjerre published a result relating the "important" points for a smooth generic space curve. The goal of this talk is to consider how one can study generic curves in 3-space using Fabricius-Bjerre's work as a starting point. One promising approach was published by Joel Weiner in 1987 in which he applied a spherical version of Fabricius-Bjerre's result to the tangent indicatrix of a smooth generic space curve. Weiner's findings and possible future research directions will be included, as well as a brief introduction to the differential geometry of space curves.
