Description
I will explain how to prove that given any compact affine
real algebraic set V,
one can construct a planar mechanical linkage L whose configuration
space is Nash-isomorphic to
a finite collection of disjoint copies of V. In particular, given any
finite connected
planar real-algebraic curve C, one can construct L that would "draw" C.
