Description
This talk is aimed at first year graduate students who might be
interested pursuing combinatorics. I'll introduce the most ubiquitous
objects of algebraic combinatorics: Young tableaux. I'll give an idea
how to associate a matrix to a pair of tableaux (and vice versa), why
a person might want to do this, and how to enumerate tableaux by their
shape.
