The simplicial approach to buildings

Buildings will be introduced not as places to hold seminars in, but rather as simplicial complexes which can be expressed as a union of subcomplexes (called apartments) subject to additional axioms. I will introduce several examples of buildings and if time permits the homotopy type of a building will be discussed.
