Embedding in Musical Scales

I will discuss the embedding of the diatonic scale in the chromatic scale (in music). There is a theorem that states that the number of notes in a sequence in the diatonic scale is equal to the number of species that the equivalence class of sequences divides into. I will prove this as well as present some other interesting related results.
