Hilbert schemes of locally planar curves

In this talk, I will introduce Hilbert schemes and related schemes for reduced locally planar curves, focusing on the examples {x^n=y^n}. The corresponding compactified local Picard schemes have a description as affine Springer fibers, which I will briefly introduce as well. I will describe an action of a polynomial ring on the direct sum of the cohomologies of the Hilbert schemes, which is intimately related to the cohomology of the affine Springer fibers, invariants of the links of the singularities, as well as Cherednik algebra representations.
