Fractal Geometry and Stepwise-Adjustable Iterated Function Systems

We start with a short history and introduction of fractal geometry as a field, and a more detailed look at fractals generated by iterated function systems (IFS). We then introduce a new, more general construction that allows for the creation of similar fractals to those generated by an IFS, but without the constraint that the same functions be applied at each iteration. If time permits, we will present the Hausdorff dimension of such objects. No measure theory background is assumed, only a few basic analysis results.
