Does Space Matter?

In recent years, an increasing number of ecological models have included space explicitly. Space has been implicated as an important factor in determining the outcome of species interactions. I will discuss how the inclusion of a spatial component in spatially explicit, stochastic models affects the outcome of species interactions in a competition and in a host-pathogen model.
