We use representation theoretic techniques (particularly the Virasoro algebra) to prove the injectivity of the cycle class map from (a certain subring of) the Chow ring to the cohomology ring of the Hilbert scheme of points on a K3 surface, thus yielding a version of the Beauville-Voisin conjecture for this particular hyperkahler manifold. Joint work with Davesh Maulik.
