Busemann processes in directed polymers and in the Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation

Probability

Speaker: Timo Seppalainen, University of Wisconsin
Location: Zoom
Start time: Mon, Jun 3 2024, 11:00AM

This talk describes the Busemann process of the directed polymer model and in particular its properties and applications in the solvable inverse-gamma polymer. Information of this process can be accessed through an intertwining with an auxiliary stochastic process constructed through a version of the geometric Robinson-Schensted-Knuth (gRSK) correspondence. If time permits, we'll also discuss the Busemann process of the KPZ equation and its connection with the one force-one solution principle.
