Gazing at distant supernovae, astronomers have learnt that our universe is asymptotically de Sitter. Mathematically this space is easy to describe and quantum fields form representations of its SO(4,1) isometry algebra. We will describe some recent suprises found in the free particle spectrum of a de Sitter universe.
