If working on one of the Computers in  the LAB  Please do the following steps:
( If you are using your LAPTOP first go to step 10 to connect your laptop )

1. Login to the computer.
2. Visit  website: math.ucdavis.edu/~daddel
3. Click on MATH 22AL.
4. Click on LAB1.
5. On LAB 1 page, Scroll down to see the following:

Type 
 textmatlab
Type :  diary LAB1.text 

You will come back to this page after step 8.

6. Click on  terminal Icon at the right of the window.( or Click on  Menu (lower left corner)  to see the terminal Icon)

7. Resize the terminal window so that it does not overlap with your Web Browser window.

8. Start following the instruction on LAB1 by typing  the following which is on the website in that terminal window:
Type:
textmatlab   (press Enter)
Type: diary LAB1.text   (press Enter)
Type: 
 % your last name  (press Enter)

Type: 
 % your first name   (press Enter)

Type: 
 % date        (dd/mm/yyyy    press Enter)

Type: 
 %Your MATH 22AL User name  (press Enter)
 
9.   You are done with this page. Visit the Website of  MATH 22AL  LAB1  and Continue typing by following the instructions in  LAB1
