Freshman Keith Johnson and junior Jason Cox each scored 13 points Saturday night as the UC Davis men took sole possession of first place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association with a 55-49 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson.

The Aggies improved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the CCAA. They are the only unbeaten CCAA team and own a one-game lead over Sonoma State and Cal Poly Pomona.

UCD trailed 43-42 with 4:19 to play, but a three-pointer by Dante Ross put the Aggies ahead. As the shot clock expired on UCD's next possession, Ross sank a double-clutch three-pointer for a 48-43 lead. The Aggies made 5 of 8 free throws in the final 1:48 to pull out the victory.

In the second half, UCD shot 55 percent (11 of 20) and held the Toros to 29 percent (8 of 28).

Johnson made 5 of 8 shots and at one point early in the second half scored six successive points as the Aggies took a 30-26 lead.

Dominguez Hills dropped to 2-5 and 1-3.
