Research
My research interests are in analysis, applied mathematics, wave propagation, singular perturbation theory, and nonlinear PDEs, especially nonlinear hyperbolic PDEs.
Some specific problems in which I'm currently interested are:
- Hamiltonian descriptions of nonlinear waves
- Normal form methods for nonlinear PDEs
- Nonlinear, nondispersive surface waves
- Hyperbolic conservation laws
- Shock wave reflection and transonic flow
- Variational systems of wave equations
