Section 3.1 LAB 3 needs special attention

Before this Pandemic, Every one had to go to MATH dept Computer LAB to do LAB 3, to view the Plots. Since you can not see the plots through the terminal Window, instead of going to computer lab, for LAB 3 you can download Student Version of MATLAB in your computer and do the work using it.

I. To download MATLAB please visit https://www.mathworks.com/academia/tah-portal/university-of-california-davis-589250.html (Links to an external site.)

II. When working with student version of MATLAB, you need to create the m-files also in the same directory as MATLAB installed. Depending on your system you may use an editor to create the m-file (in MAC you may use TextEdit, in Windows you may use Notepad). (Links to an external site.)

III. To transfer your work to Math dept computer the. following steps can Help: 1. Connect to math dept Computer using a terminal window. 2. Use pico to open a new file called "LAB3.text" You can do this by typing “ pico LAB3.text” 3. Copy your Work and paste it in the window of file LAB3.text that you. opened using pico. 4. Use Control O to save. Matlab lab has a powerful graphic tools for 2 and 3-dimensional plots and exploration, and visualization techniques.
